The Lead Sourcing Specialist is responsible for providing sourcing leadership and direction within Subsea Well systems packages, sharing responsibility with the Project Manager(s)/ Director for the contractual and financial delivery of the project in accordance with the execution and financial plan. The job holder provides the key commercial interface between the internal business units, functions (finance, planning, sourcing, legal, EPC), sub-contractor and the management team on all project commercial and contractual matters
As a Lead Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Defining supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels. Leading negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers. Negotiating terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Including commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. This may also include purchasing activities.
- Early involvement prior to customer contract award: Risk distribution / mitigation & cost validation.
- Developing strategic contracting approach with our suppliers to drive more certainty into our execution based on risk-based contract.
- Contract familiarization & strategy setting with site team
- Defining and improve Sourcing strategies at business or plant level. May also include management of regional & business teams.
- Oversight of proper rhythms to protect BH interests in execution, e.g. Establish monthly contract review: Cost out-turn, VOs, risks/opps, etc
- Advises Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures in the own field.
- Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems
- Controlling flow of change from BH, optimizing execution. Establish and maintain the project variation control system and managing negotiations in line with contract requirements to optimize out-turn
- Delaying log documentation process and support to site team
- Long term strategy driven: setting up template, optimizing contract scope coordination and alignment with change order process
- Ensuring commercial risks are identified and managed across the project scopes of work by controlling the overall project risk and opportunity review and reporting process.
- Ensuring sourcing management awareness and support purchase and tender process with regard to customer / project requirements, with specific regard to customer imposed AVL / ITP’s / Pre-production meetings and any other pertinent project specific requirements with suppliers.
- Liaison with the Well systems and overall Project Scheduler, Material Planning and Execution Manager so as to maintain current look-ahead reporting to give project regular visibility of short- and long-term events and key fulfilment issues.
- Accurately managing the project cost status and reporting and advising on variances, risks and corrective actions affecting the overall project estimate to complete. Well systems Product managers on competitiveness
- Ensuring a project sourcing plan and timeline is established with the support of Sourcing function and ensure that related commercial and contractual risks for key subcontracts and major purchases are being mitigated and opportunities are managed.
- Ensuring compliance with the project specific contractual administration requirements.
- Managing the invoicing process ensuring that the project maintains the best possible free cash flow and supplier on time payment performances or financial hold mechanism is in place.
- Co-ordinating and support periodic client and internal reporting and performance presentations.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or, other relevant legal, contractual, commercial, procurement energy related degree, with experience in Sourcing.
- Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Sourcing Management.
- Substantial Subsea Well systems contract management experiences in an oil and gas capital construction project environment.
- Proven track record in contributing to the improvement of Sourcing profitability, cash flow and control of commercial risk in previous roles.
- Commercially, financially and contractually experienced with strategic and tactical communication proven capabilities,
- Successfully developed and maintained stakeholder influence over inter-personal and negotiation commercial cases
- Strong leadership record with proven capability of working in a matrix environment and of being a change agent with positive business organizational and commercial outcomes.
- Overall Experienced to drive detail level of work and fast commercial results.
- Proven track to develop sub-contract manager, career path and establish a succession in plan
- Fluent English
