Airswift is seeking a Firmware Engineer to work in a permanent contract in Rio de Janeiro with a major Oil & Gas Company.
Experience in firmware development on various platforms;
Experience with development/testing of digital electronics applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (oil and gas, aerospace or defense applications);
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for designing, testing and documenting the firmware of various subsystems aimed at a company wireline tool under development;
The professional will collaborate with Halliburton’s development teams in the USA and Singapore.
The professional will work closely with the Electrical Engineering team, the Systems Engineer and the Project Manager.
Knowledge of microcontroller programming for signal measurement, signal processing and feedback control;
Experience of developing firmware for digital communication (MIL-STD-1553, RS-485, CAN, SPI, I²C, etc.);
Proven ability to analyze firmware validation requirements in advance and develop/execute test plans and test configurations using firmware and hardware debugging tools.
Knowledge of hardware description languages for FPGAs (VHDL, Verilog, etc.);
Experience in signal integrity analysis using laboratory test equipment and simulation, and performing logic/timing analysis.
Experience with commonly used computer languages (C, C++, Python, etc.)
Documentation of technical reports in a timely manner.
Ability to innovate, self-motivation, strong teamwork, adaptability, communication and writing skills are required.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or similar areas with sufficient experience is acceptable.
A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in one of the areas above is desired.
Fluent in English.
