    The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a strategic position at Amazon, responsible for leading asset protection efforts (people, products, facilities, equipment, data, and intellectual property) in designated operational units. Reporting to the Loss Prevention Manager, the professional works closely with operational and cross-functional teams throughout the organization.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Conduct confidential investigations and prepare reports on theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents
    • Identify process vulnerabilities and define mitigating actions, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards
    • Act as a security and crisis management subject matter expert, keeping leadership informed of key issues
    • Develop and implement security best practices
    • Perform physical security audits and monitor protection systems
    • Analyze metrics and KPIs to improve processes and increase efficiency
    • Coordinate with security service providers and external agencies when necessary
    • Develop and conduct loss prevention awareness programs

    A day in the life

    As a Brazil Security & Loss Prevention Team member, you’ll lead security services and asset protection efforts, safeguarding People, Product, and Data. Working with site and regional leaders across Operations, WHS, PxT, Employee Relations, and RME, you’ll drive efficiency and loss reduction. Supported by WWOS’s global strategy, you’ll leverage technology to mitigate product loss and maintain customer satisfaction. Collaborating with external partners, including law enforcement and security vendors, you’ll enhance security measures and investigate incidents. Your role is crucial in protecting company assets and maintaining a secure environment, adapting to the organization’s size and industry needs.

    About The Team

    Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Security and Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazon’s Worldwide Operations, as well as affiliate and retail businesses. WWOS creates and maintains a work environment that is prepared and secure through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection. We accomplish this by creating policy and implementing guidelines; training leadership and staff; using technology to eliminate subjectivity, complexity, and variation; identifying, preparing for, and mitigating risk; and auditing our practices to ensure compliance.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Engineering, Logistics, or related fields)
    • Experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, or related areas
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis
    • Intermediate English and Fluent Portuguese
    • Flexibility to work weekends/overnight shifts when necessary
    • Availability to travel

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MBA or related post-graduate degree
    • Lean Six Sigma knowledge
    • Experience with databases and data analysis
    • Experience in warehouse/distribution center environment
    • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to effectively communicate and influence across all organizational levels
    • Experience in physical security systems implementation/maintenance
