    Job Purpose

    As Naval Engineer, you ensure that the Company Marine Unit’s hulls (and hull appendixes) and pump/engine rooms structures and outboard openings in your dedicated vessel(s) are prepared and maintained in a good and reliable condition by the most economical combination of investment and maintenance throughout the projected lifetime, taking into account specific site and contract conditions.

    Job Responsibilities

    • You define critical points from design and/or RBI for details inspections and record it in ISIP (In Service Inspection Plan).
    • You prepare an inspection plan for each tank and compartment based on the design documentation, Class Rules and IACS requirement for the vendor’s execution onboard.
    • You build an inspection schedule plan for the units in the most optimized way and grant compliance with the Class & Statutory requirements for tanks & compartments, in-water survey (including mooring) and ship’s bottom & side valves. * You follow pre-inspection activities onboard allowing to coordinate the beginning and completion of the vendors activities.
    • You analyze the inspection reports provided by vendors and keep update the Hull maintenance database and propose, every time is required, the necessary repairs following the best practices and International & Company standards.
    • You provide technical support for structural inspection and repair team/ vendor.
    • You board the units to follow inspections, on random basis, to verify at site critical findings and/or critical structures/ tanks. In case of need, you find technical solutions for any type of structural issue that may arise as result of an inspection or structural failure.
    • You support the offshore and onshore operations teams providing advice on hull integrity.
    • You provide technical support on vendors’ evaluation and qualification.
    • You follow up on the quality level of the services provided by the vendors.
    • You follow up the budget estimation for the inspections (tanks and compartments in-water) for the yearly campaigns.
    • You establish and maintain effective working relationships with project stakeholders.

    Education & Experience

    • Desirable experience in naval engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
    • Desirable Knowledge in CAD software and other engineering tools.
    • Desirable Experience in Class Society as surveyor is an advantage.
    • Desirable knowledge of marine structures & systems, structural repair, International Standards (IACS & Class), materials, welding, planning and scheduling activities, and ship stability.
