What You Will Do:
- The primary function of an intern is to develop skills and knowledge of ABS core business functions including but not limited to:
- May assist in technical report analyses (HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, gas dispersion, fluid dynamics analysis)
- May assist in safety improvements projects
- May assist in preparing technical reports to identify units posing excessive risk to Safety, Asset and the Environment.
- May assist in review engineering technical specifications and drawings in the area of process and control engineering
- May assist in explosion/fire calculation
- May assist in technical/administrative tasks, such as technical reports, presentation, statement capability and others
- Communicate the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure that the needs of the clients will be met.
- May propose new approaches to problems encountered and make recommendations for changes in methods, procedures, or designs.
- May assist with the writing and presentation of technical papers and reports concerning areas of expertise and work performed.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Applicants must be working towards B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related disciplines – graduation predicted to July or December 2025.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Advanced in English
- Advanced in Spanish (desired)
- Basic engineering knowledge and proficiency in office package (word, excel, power point) and AutoCAD are preferred.
- Knowledge of process safety discipline preferred.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and propose creative, unique solutions to problems.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to work well with others.
